CR Advocates LLP is a progressive, Kenyan based law firm with a growing international practice. The firm is a full-service law firm specialized in Commercial Corporate law and related practice areas; with more than 20 years cumulative experience, seeking to fill the following position:

Commercial Litigation Advocate

Key Duties & Responsibilities
  • 1. Attending Courts at all levels including tribunals across the country.
  • 2. Drafting and reviewing of litigation documents including pleadings, notices, affidavits &correspondence.
  • 3. Conducting negotiations with a view to settling potentially litigious matters in the best interest of our client.
  • 4. To effectively monitor the on-going litigation cases in the firm including adherence to the internal processes.
  •  5. Working with our clients as a trusted legal advisor while advising and promptly updating clients on their cases and the developments of the law.
  •  6. Provide legal opinions and advice on any areas of the law arising in civil & commercial litigation.
  • 7. Offering legally sound advice to corporate firms and individual clients in regard to various transactions or cases handled by the Firm.
  • 8. Advising clients competently and confidently on the technical aspects of a wide range of matters particularly in corporate and commercial disputes.
  • 9. Research on diverse range of assigned issues, documents and case history to ensure accuracy of advice and procedures.
  • 10. To develop and maintain good client relationship skills, gaining clients’ confidence and that of other professionals.

Minimum requirements
  • 1. Advocate of the High Court of Kenya
  • 2. Have at least five (5) years of post-admission commercial litigation experience in a busy law firm.
  • 3. Have current year (2024) Practicing Certificate.
  • 4. Certification in Mediation and Arbitration is an added advantage.
  • 5. Have good communication, presentation and analytical skills.
  • 6. Have the ability to work with no or very minimum supervision.
  • 7. Ability to manage client expectations and great client interview skills;
  • 8. High quality research skills and drafting skills;
  • 9. High level of accuracy and attention to detail;
  • 10. Problem solving skills and strong team player.
  • 11. Client interview skills
